Hi! I am Karen Franchetti and I am the Phys. Ed. teacher at St. Joe. I have been at St. Joe for 27 years and I love watching the students as they grow through the years.

 

Teaching Style/Philosophy/Interesting Things I Do In the Classroom

 

I try to do activities in class that the students will like and want to do. I go through the team sports (soccer, hockey, volleyball, whiffle ball, basketball, etc.) and also some individual sports as well (mile runs, fitness testing, frisbee, dodge ball, badminton, tennis,etc.).I want students to find something they like to do and make it part of their life as they grow.  All students aren't athletes, but they can still be active, healthy and happy! I teach to help children see just how much they can accomplish. All I ask is that they try to do things-don't say I can't!  No matter what you do - staying active and eating healthy are an important part of everyone's life.  Find something you like to do and do it as often as you can!

 

What I Like Most About St. Joseph Regional School

The thing I like most about St. Joe is the spirit of family.Being here so long, I enjoy watching the students grow from year to year.

 

Why I Would Recommend St. Joseph Regional School

 

I would recommend St. Joe to parents because I went to school here from K to 12 and I ended up teaching here. The school and faculty are great!  They care about the students and take their best interests to heart.

 

Interests Outside of Teaching/Personal Life

My life outside of school revolves around my family. I started out with 3 boys - I now also have 3 daughter-in-laws and 5 grandchildren. We are an active family and do a lot of things together. We go on bike rides, take walks, swim, go to the beach, have BBQ's, baseball games, dance recitals, or just hang out together - never a dull moment!
