About Me

I am a recent graduate from Kutztown University and received my bachelors degree and dual certification in Elementary Education as well as Special Education. I have always had a passion for teaching and I couldn’t imagine having any other career. Teaching 5th grade was such wonderful experience, but I am so excited to move to 1st grade at St. Joseph Regional School!

Teaching Style/Philosophy/Interesting Things I Do In the Classroom

I believe one of the most important roles as a teacher is to create an environment that promotes learning. I work to have a classroom where students want to learn and feel comfortable as well as safe. Having a background in Special Education, I have seen first hand that all children learn differently and I will accommodate for each student in order for every student to achieve academic success. One of my biggest philosophies is that children learn by doing. I believe in engaging lessons that involves collaboration and hands on activities. One thing I make sure to do after lessons is allow the student’s to reflect on what we learned to ensure a higher order of thinking.

 

What I Like Most About St. Joseph Regional School

As soon as I got hired at St. Joseph Regional School I was instantly welcomed with open arms from the staff and families! This school has such a positive atmosphere I felt at home right away.  I feel very honored to be a part of this team!

 

Why I Would Recommend St. Joseph Regional School

Teachers at St. Joseph Regional School are able to get to know each of their students and are able to accommodate them as needed. This isn’t just a job for the teachers here, they are all truly passionate about teaching and go above and beyond for their students.

 

Interests Outside of Teaching/Personal Life

I love to be outside as much as possible. I enjoy taking my dog for a walk, going for bike rides, and spending time on the beach in the summer. I started babysitting when I was 12 years old and have been for the families in my neighborhood ever since!
