Happy, Healthy New Year From Kindergarten!

We are excited to begin the new year which brings exciting challenges and new experiences! We will begin to copy our homework assignments from the board. Children will be given copybooks to copy assignments Monday-Thursday. Please check the homework sheet sent the first week of January regarding the use of copybooks. In addition, we are continuing to count our time together. When we reach our 100th day we will celebrate that we are 100 days smarter. The day's activities will be festive and educational as they will be related to the number 100. Details will be communicated as the date approaches. We have built a strong foundation the first part of the year. The focus in the new year will be building upon and refining skill levels. Currently we are decoding and writing cvc words containing short a and i and o. Having your child sound out and write cvc words is beneficial. Educational websites are another valuable tool for home reinforcement and or enrichment. The children are continuing to work to build independence; it is rewarding to see such gains! As always, you are encouraged to contact me with any questions or concerns throughout our special time together.
