Subjects we cover this year..
Religion
Each religion lesson starts with praying a decade of the Rosary. Our focus is to understand our faith as Catholics. We spend time praying and learning about Jesus and how we can take what Jesus taught us about God and be disciples in every day life.
English Language Arts
We use Daily 5 in our classroom which allows the students to work at their own pace and provides more one on one with the teacher. Daily five is center-based learning consisting of read to self, read to a partner, listening, word work, and work on writing. Topics we cover are sentence structure, reading comprehension, sight word recognition, handwriting/ writing skills, punctuation, grammar, phonics skills, and so much more!
Math
We use Daily 3 in math. Daily 3 Math is center based consisting of Technology, working with the teacher, and working individually on the skill of the week. The program we use for the technology is called Freckle. Skills we will work on this year are number concepts, addition, subtraction, money, time, geometry, and measurement.
Social Studies
This year in social studies we cover rules and laws in a community, where people live including map skills, all about our country, and our changing world which includes the difference between the past and present.
Science
This year in science, we cover topics such as the solar system, habitats, plant life cycles, as well weather and matter.

Homework
Homework will be assigned daily (expect Fridays, holidays, or when there is a special program) and it will be due the following morning (unless otherwise noted). The work should be done neatly and showing your child’s best effort.
