To meet these goals, our school is equipped with:

-
Students from grades 3 through 8 have use of chrome books for specific lessons taught by the grade teacher which allows them to upload their activity and so communicate digitally with their teacher.
-
Each grade is also equipped with a smart board
-
A computer lab web site has been created to allow students to download specific activities and save to their desktop folder. (www.stjosephprek8complab.weebly.com)
In the computer lab, a variety of skills is taught to help integrate technology into the curriculum.
Internet Safety is of prime importance and is therefore discussed frequently with the students.
Keyboarding is introduced in Kindergarten and grade 1 (www.typetastic.com). The middle and upper grades continue with these skills using (www.how-to-type.com).
To further enhance learning, for the lower grade students, on-line activities such as www.carnegielibrary.org/storymaker and several other programs aid the students in developing writing skills and producing short stories.
To continue meeting the demands of the digital world, our students are introduced to programming beginning with Kindergarten students. www.code.org, Scratch and Alice are the coding programs used by the students.
Also incorporated in the learning experience of the upper grade students, basic web design using Microsoft Publisher is used; Photoshop, Tuxpi and other graphic design programs are introduced, and the creation of a short movie) with students and cameras photographing the outdoors. (kizoa.com)
