Art/4th Grade
Miss Nichole Ayala
About Me
I have been teaching Art at St. Joseph Regional School for 11 years. I graduated from The College of St. Elizabeth in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Art. I have taught an extracurricular after school Art Club for the past 10 years to grades 3-8, and added Art Club for K-2 3 years ago. I have also taught 5th-8th Religion here at St. Joseph Regional School.
During the the 2018-2019 School year I became the 4th grade classroom teacher along with my K-8 Art Art classes. I look forward to another great year in grade 4.

I am active in the Catholic community by working with the Sisters of Charity of New Jersey on their Vocational Advisory Board and representing them at nationwide conferences.

Teaching Style/Philosophy/Interesting Things I Do In the Classroom
I find it very important in the lower grades to reinforce fine motor skills through a variety of exercises in drawing, cutting, coloring and gluing. I also have all students learn proper art vocabulary and art history to accompany their projects.
What I Like Most About St. Joseph Regional School
The thing that draws me to St. Joseph Regional School is the family atmosphere and the Catholic identity I see throughout the school.
Why I Would Recommend St. Joseph Regional School
I feel that all the teachers at St. Joseph Regional School take the time to get to know each student as an individual and not just another child in their class.
Interests Outside of Teaching/Personal Life
I enjoy all forms of creating art from drawing and painting to re-purposing objects into sculptures. I enjoy reading historical fiction and re-imagined fairy tales. I spend as much of my free time as I can with my niece and 3 nephews.
